Story[]

Jeannie is first introduced when Matthew Cuthbert visits the La Rue Auber to buy a puff-sleeved dress for Anne. Jeannie notices Matthew in the shop and invites him for tea upstairs. The two talk and remenisce about the past, but eventually, when Matthew's late brother Michael Cuthbert is brought up, Matthew tells Jeannie that he is going to leave.

Much later, Anne realizes that Jeannie has been writing letters to Matthew, but he has not been reading any of them or writing her back. Anne does not understand the reason why, and, one day while she is doing her chores, she takes one of Matthew's letters and secretly reads them over. Thinking she is doing good, Anne pretends to be Matthew and writes Jeannie back, not realising that her actions are wrong.

Afterwards, Matthew finds out and becomes angry with Anne, telling her: "It's not right, what you did." This upsets Anne, because she truly did not mean to hurt his feelings. She just assumed that the two had feelings for one another (again) and wanted to indulge in a relationship.

Matthew meets up with Jeannie later and apoligizes to her for not reading her letters or replying to them. He also tells her that it had been Anne that had been writing back to her. Jeannie, who thinks that Matthew had just wanted to meet up with her because of their letters and deep talks in them, is embarrassed and flustered. Later, she laughs it off by stating that she did find it weird that Matthew would compare her to a certain type of flower in his letter. This is because Matthew had never been really bold and is a shy person.

Jeannie compliments Anne's writing and tells Matthew to forgive her.

Later on in the show, it is now Winter and Anne is looking through La Rue Aubor's windows at a beautiful dress. Jeannie is outside in the snow, moving her luggage into a carriage. When asked where she is off to by Anne, she tells her that she is moving back to Paris. Anne, a tad bit upset, bids her goodbye and the two part ways with bittersweet smiles.
